Manchester School of Art

We have been working with Manchester School of Art since 2017, visiting once a year to give a talk to the graphic design course, and running crit sessions with the second year students towards the end of their book cover design project. The students are given a choice of three book series to redesign, one being a selection of Little, Brown books focusing on issues around society and gender. Visiting when the project is in its final stages means we are able to give valuable industry feedback, and if students have found the project particularly inspiring, they’re able to ask us questions about a career as a book designer. We selected one of their students in 2019 and a recent graduate in 2020 to come and intern with us, so it’s proved a valuable relationship for us as well as the university.
